Arrowood Viburnum, Hobblebush, Blackhaw

Viburnum dentatum 'Christom'
Blue Muffin

An exciting new compact selection of Arrowwood Viburnum! It's the perfect sized plant for residential landscapes. This compact beauty has loads of white spring flowers and an impressive display of rich blue berries in late summer. Makes a great low hedge or foundation plant. Good container growing plant. Attracts songbirds.

BLUE MUFFIN™ is a useful new viburnum variety.  More compact than other Arrowwood viburnum, it fits easily into the residential landscape as a low hedge or foundation plant.  Easy to grow, with little or no maintenance required, BLUE MUFFIN™ adapts to most locations with full sun to partial shade.

Clean white flowers make for a crisp contrast with the glossy green leaves in early to mid-summer.  The remarkably intense blue fruit that inspired the BLUE MUFFIN™ name appear in late summer and fall.  The fruit add interest to the fall landscape, and attract songbirds to the garden.

More Information

Viburnums are shrubs or small trees with attractive foliage, flowers and fruit. They are great ornamental landscape plants and wonderful natives. The fruit attracts most fruit-eating birds, including bluebirds, brown thrashers, cedar waxwings, gray catbirds, robins and thrushes. They are virtually pest free and easy to grow. They can be used as specimens, in a mixed border, as a hedge or in a naturalized planting.
