Popular older cultivar. Mix of solid and bicolor flowers in various shades of white, yellow, pink, red, and blue.

Palmately compound leaves and pea-like flowers in erect spikes. For moist, acidic soils. Short-lived and heat-sensitive plants that are best treated as annuals in hot, humid climates. Deadheading encourages reblomming. Good early summer blooming cut flower.

Lupines prefer a cool area in full or partial sun. In areas with hot summers, they should be grown as short lived perennials. These plants do not like to be transplanted and may need staking.
