More Information

This perennial is tolerant of a range of well-drained soil types from average to dry. Amending soils, especially very heavy and light types, with generous amounts of organic matter will result in improved performance. Although tolerant of partial shade, it will flower better in full sun. 'Aztec Gold' tends to be more chartreuse when grown in partial shade, and true yellow in full sun.

Division of the clump can be done in the spring and stem cuttings can be taken in the summer. Dead heading the spent flowers may encourage a longer blooming period. Plant prefers the sun and a well drained soil that does not dry out. Hardy and easy to grow. The flowers are long-blooming and arranged on long erect spikes. Seeds can be sown after collecting them in the late spring.

Propagation Method: Cuttings, Division

Root Form: Rhizome

Soil Condition: Loamy, Well drained, Neutral ph

Environmental: Drought tolerant, Humidity intolerant
