This sport of ‘Burgundy Glow’ is similar in color (cream, rose-purple, and green), but differs in leaf shape and substance. The leaves of Party Colors are comparable to those of ‘Black Scallop’: they are larger, thicker, and more rounded with a scalloped edge.
This plant forms a dense, compact mound but is spreading in habit. The growth rate is also comparable to ‘Black Scallop’ in that is more restrained and makes a great choice for mixed container plantings. It is reportedly mildew-resistant.
Short spikes of violet blue flowers are produced from mid thru late spring.
A. reptans is a quickly spreading, evergreen groundcover that can grow in the shade of large trees where grass is hard to establish. It also fits nicely into rock gardens and mixed container plantings. Unlike many perennials that are grown only for their flowers, ajuga is prized for its attractive, colorful foliage that looks nice all year.

Ajuga grows best in partial to full shade but will also grow in full sun if constant moisture is provided. It will tolerate any soil, even poor ones, as long as it is well-drained. Good air circulation is essential to avoid crown rot. Propagate by division any time during the growing season.
